Well we went up 3 times and still not open, even had chocs and a card, we back in 4 weeks so if anyone knows opening date please let me know. Thanks

Just to let you know that Estrela do Mar (previously of Algar Seco) is now open (Thurs 21/02/08) and we have just had a fantastic meal there, we can recommend the Roast Suckling Pig!, very good choice, lovely surroundings, we wish them all the very best.

It's already open for breakfast, lunch and dinner - now owned by Jorge, one of the waiters at Bella Vita, and Jorge the chef.

It's 'Jorge da cozinha' (of the kitchen) and 'Jorge das mesas' (of the tables)

Okay Im confused , where is this restaurant , I only know Boneca bar and restaurant at the bottom of the steps , with the grotto , Have i missed this other restaurant ? Which by the way is also very good , but they need to install a stanner stair lift , so dont attempt the stairs unless 1. you are reasonably fit and healthy 2. you are light weight plus 3. have a hunky firman to carry you up !!!

Hi WR2,

The restauarant you seek is by the pool within the Algar Seco apartment complex back up the hill from the grotto steps about 100 yards.

So what's the food like? Bela Vita is one of my favourite restaurants always had excellent meals there.

Thanks Drewster has just sunk in , I see the pool when i walk to Bar Boneca , didnt realsie there was a restaurant. ( only lived here 6 and a half years !!! ) Really must go out more and explore.
