Launderette

Has anyone seen a launderette in and around Carvoeiro? The kind where you do it yourself by feeding coins into a clothes washing machine and/or clothes dryer. I did a search of the forum and the last posting was in 2005 and had nothing.

Secondly does anyone have recommendations where to take items such as bedsheets and towels for a good price to be laundered and dried within one day? Prerviously we found that it was difficult to get a same day turnaround on this service.

This info would be helpful especially when it is cloudy and rainy for several days in a row. We have a washer in our apartment but it takes forever to dry items on the balcony on non-sunny days.

dont know about a 1 day service , as we have 3 sets for every bed , we use the launderette oposite the millennium bank on the in road , they are really good if not a bit expensive as they charge by weight.

How about buying a tumble dryer? I know they can be expensive to run but if time is short then they are a god send. Liz

Isnt there a launderette inside Intermarche - its on the left as you go through the main entrance - dont know how much they charge or even if its just dry cleaners, all I know is that everytime we go in there, theres always someone ironing away like theres no tomorrow! (cant think of anything worse - NOT my favourite pastime - yuk!
