Ref Televisions

Post by maccasa »

Hi folks - I am about to start a villa build in CVO and starting to think of all sorts of questions - one that has just cropped up is - can we bring a UK tv over - for use on a spare SKY satellite unit we already have?

You can. what you need to be sure of that the amplification power of the Sky box is high enough. Some arent. Algarve sits on the edge of the sky footprint, so you need a larger dish as well. the PACE boxes seem to be the best.

Thanks Bruce - do you know which satellite you tune to for freeview - Astra 1A?

I think so.
You'll need to get the dish people out there to do it. There are several UK owned firms, all of which advertise locally in the freesheets.

Would recommend R J Tecnica in Carvoeiro. You will need a 1.2-1.3m dish, and they will tell you if your digibox and card are usable.

We are about to do the same but will buy our tv locally just in case we get any problems.

We too plan to use FREESAT bringing a box with us.
