Yeah, wait until Saturday and them bring 'em round to our place (Well, it's Mike's actually!) and we can play some games. If they are really bored I could always teach 'em to play backgammon.

Exactly..we're British aren't we?

Lord I recall our time in Lagoa, one winter when it rained every day for weeks...we had no heating in our apart. except for a large gas fire heater on wheels. We had black mould on walls, damp bedclothes, damp clothes (which had to be left around the fire overnight to dry off for the morning before going to work)
It was at that time I got my first attack of sciatica..very painful.

I hope it cheers up for all who are travelling for CVO Christmas..as Sharen says, take hot water bottles and have a nice big Port for nightcap (very warming)
I bet the sun will be shining again for Christmas

Since the Lincoln Christmas Market I have been making loads of mulled wine and I intend to make a load more in the village. That'll keep her nice and warm.

omg!! what a storm that was! Think yrself lucky if you have electricity to put the blanket on with Robbie, lots of my friends towards armacao dont have any!!
The roads are finally clear now, it certainly felt like quite an adventure driving along the in road today, the water was so high you couldn´t even see where the pavement reached the road.

The man hole covers are back on now and most of the rubble has been cleared as well, lets just hope that there isnt much more tonight.
Robbie, you could always suggest that yr wife and kids to try white water rafting through the streets as a form of entertainment, or the other firm fave of mine: spot the flying santas (a lot of the ones that hang off balconies have been making a bid for freedom).

Just to let you know, the sun is shining in south Hampshire - has been all week. The air is crisp and dry, the beer is cold, the mulled wine is warm, the beef is rare, the pubs are full - oh to be in England in the winter!

Nothing's changed that much a lot of the houses are still that damp throughout the winter.

We lost power yesterday evening and we're in for a lot more storms yet according to the weather reports.

yes its been shorts and trainers in the garden for the last couple of months(Until yesterday),been doing a bit of rearranging!
