Apolonia is on the EN125 near Villamoura ish, theres a big advert for it on the road to lagoa at the junction to the fatacil if yr coming from carvoeiro. It sells all sorts of English imported stuff but obviously at a price!!! you can get everything from crumpets to pork pies and everything for xmas, it even looks like a proper supermarket!!
The shop itself is very expensive but the cafe inside is excellent and very cheap so its a good place to drop in to for a coffee and sandwich if yr on route anywhere round there anyway.

When you say 'whole turkey' BF1, do you mean with feathers and head etc, If so what is the Portuguese for Turkey all nicely dressed ready for the oven? :)

If anyone living in the village is in getting some meat in this shop could you possibly ask him for a phone number and put up as a reply on this subject. I want to order some meat for the Christmas period. Most especially a Turkey and Ham. :D

Just an update from my last posting. I did a bit of homework and the website is not working but here is the number of the shop
282356005
Tell him Robbie sent you and he might add a bit of extra stuffing on my turkey when I collect it  For anyone thinking of ordering their Christmas meat, he opens from Tuesday through to Saturday at the moment and he is open until 24th December this year to cater for the Christmas trade. I must say it takes the worry out of it for me as I was afraid that all turkeys and hams could be gone before we get down

Would someone please tell me exactly where this butcher is? I am thinking I might like to buy/order some meat from him but unless someone tells me where he is I'll probably end up at the supermarket!!!

Cheers

Sharon,
I have ordered meat and don't know where to pick it up yet !!!!! If you take a look at the most recent newsletter (on the home page) it shows a picture of it and refers to it being down the hill on the way in to Carvoeiro and also lists some other shops which are on the same road so that might tell us

It's where the Portuguese butcher was, on the in road just past the cut through & on the right, there are parking bays outside.

You can get turkeys anywhere, usually with the head & feet I just ask them to take them off.

I think I know where it is now, but if I am wrong I can always give Carol a call and get her to confirm it...

It's on the road in, on the right hand side, just before the post office.

I´m feeling both dissapointed and hungry now!! I had set my heart on trying the pork stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon but I forgot to check my watch and it closed half an hour ago!! Theres always tomorrow I suppose, looks like a frozen pizza is on the menu tonight now.
