Aljezur

Post by VON VON »

We are over at the end of this month and are planning a trip to the Aljezur area and wondered if anyone could recommend places to visit along the coast.

Thanks

 Do try and get up to Vila Nova Milfontes, it is a lovely village set on the estuary of the river Mira. About 1 ¾ hour drive from Benagil via the motorway and the N120.

It doesn't matter where you choose to visit, the entire coastline is amazing.

thanks for the feedback - we have just returned to the UK and due to a change of plan while we were in Portugal were unable to do the trip to Aljezur but intend to try and get there in January/March

We were in that area today. We had lunch on the terrace of a small pasteleria in Aljezur and then took the dog for a walk along the estuary up Amoreiras beach. The sky was clear blue and the temperature was 20 degrees. One of those winter days which makes life in the Algarve so enjoyable.

When we first came here it was a long drive to get to Aljezur but once the motorway opened it became a 45 minute trip and we often go there because the coast is really amazing and usually fairly deserted.
