bringing a car from uk

Hi we are buying a property in sesmaris and would like to know if we bring a car from the UK can we keep it in Portugal if we are not residents. we would be grateful for any advice

you can keep a british reg car in portugal for six months , then you have to matriculate it into portugese reg , but from experience you are cheaper and easier to buy portugese , your british cars steering wheel will be on the wrong side anyway i would imagine , there are instructions on how to change to portugese reg on this website somewhere .
