Brasserie Marina

Post by pato »

Visited the refurbished restaurant last night, it's renamed Pierpaolo and we were disappointed unfortunately, the ambience is still lovely but I feel they're trying too much, don't get me wrong but just a little bit too much attention and maybe that's just me.
The menu seems to be the problem it's not designed to cater for general taste, it's too saucy I had a sirloin steak which was nearly raw, very nicely presented but as I say raw, the chips were straw chips and were cold, Kath had Golden Bream served with a strange sauce and shredded vegetables , she wasn't impressed. Half a bottle of wine and one coffee, the bill was 66 euros.
They need to review the menu and simplify the fare, we won't return in a hurry, I used to love the place and the menu, they had a very successful business under Aart & Marion and the present owners should return to their recipe at least in part anyway when we arrived last night at 7.30 pm it was empty.
