20:00 A PLACE IN THE SUN 6/8: Portugal
Figueira da Foz on Portugal's little-known Costa de Prata or "Silver Coast" is an unspoilt coastline far less developed than the Algarve. Its invigorating Atlantic coast, exciting surf and wide, blue-flag sandy beaches have been surprisingly overlooked by us Brits. With Portugal's economy on a temporary go-slow, now is the time to pick up a bargain here. Adventurous backpacking couple Ben Muditt and Kerry Williams plan to do just that. They're going to re-mortgage and rent out their Bristol home, plough in all their savings, and spend £180,000 on a property to which they want to re-locate, and that must also be big enough to run as a profitable youth hostel for backpackers and surfers. They've been to Portugal before and fallen in love with its laidback lifestyle, but this is the biggest decision of their lives. Can they balance the emotional side of finding a new home with assessing any property's business possibilities? Amanda Lamb is there to help guide them through. Dir: Jessica Edwards; Series Prod: John Lonsdale; Exec Prod: Caroline Blackadder; Prod Co: Freeform TV
