Re: PRIMARK
I would not bank on Ikea for a few years yet, there is an active local campaign against it.

Apparently they have started - 6 stores in England according to their website. I checked but I was confusing them with Dunne & Co - a clothing shop in Southampton.James Faro wrote: Dunnes Stores should spread out into the UK. Its clothing is superb!

WOW, what next, Big Issue sales people !!
Re: PRIMARK
I came back from a week in CVO last Thursday. Was not impressed with the minimarkets. Could do with a small Waitrose or M&S.

Yes I know....based on Loule Camra running a local trade protection campaign.EMM wrote:I would not bank on Ikea for a few years yet, there is an active local campaign against it.
I suspect that a little local "planning gain" will circumvent those objections....it certainly works in England!!
I understand that IKEA are carrying on with their planning.

Not anymore its not - Associated British Foods (ABF) saved it from disaster several years ago just as it was about to go 'pop'. Before the Brits become all sanctimonious - ABF is owned by Wittington Investments a Canadian company (for those who don't know) which in turn is owned by the Weston familyjoeysoap wrote:a rare irish sucess story
