Hi looking at renting a property over there in the next few years to permanently live there, can anyone tell me the rates of renting in potugal for a two bedroom apartment or house and what area is cheapest?

If you can find a long let in Carvoeiro, a 2 bed apartment would probably be around 500-600 euros per month - it would be easier, and cheaper, to get a long let in non-tourist areas like Lagoa. The 123 newspaper is a good place to start.

The 123 has classified ads in three languages - English, German and Portuguese
