A well-known producer of pornographic films is to set up a studio near Faro, and has already acquired a piece of land for this purpose. The Algarve is regarded as a paradise for people working in the sex industry. The girls come from Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The company, which is based in London, decided to move all of its production to the Algarve after spending the last ten years travelling between England and the city of Faro. Why? The great climate in the Algarve, the many days of sunshine and the low cost of living justified the move, Viv Thomas, a well-known photographer in the pornography industry and owner of ‘VivThomas.com’ told the Algarve Observer.
The company, which regularly produces material for magazines like ‘Penthouse’ or ‘Mayfair’ or channels like Playboy TV, has already acquired a piece of land outside Faro, where they plan to build a house with a garden, pool, fountains and four bedrooms. The idea is to transform the place into the “perfect location” for photographic production and pornographic films. Viv Thomas said it would be the studio of his dreams.
In this way, the company will have to resort less often to the renting of luxury residences near Quinta do Lago or Vale do Lobo, two tourist resorts where ‘VivThomas.com’ works quite regularly.
The photographer says that the Algarve is a real paradise for pornography and that there are many English colleagues in the profession who frequently travel to the south of Portugal for their productions.
Viv Thomas said that it is much cheaper to produce here, and that in addition it is a very pleasant area for enjoying themselves between work. He stressed that the sex sessions were very discreet and that they did not want to inconvenience anyone, adding that they were normal people, not pornographic idiots, nor disturbed or perverted.
The company intends to move lock, stock and barrel to the south of the country by the end of the year. The first work made entirely in the Algarve can be seen from the beginning of 2006.
Viv Thomas said that the “work force” is contracted in the Czech Republic and Hungary, EU countries where there are many beautiful women at much more affordable prices.
