Can anyone tell me please...the price of a litre of unleaded petrol in CVO and the area in general?.
Asking this for H..the price here is around 89p and fear it won't be long before it hits the £1 !.....
He's planning to drive out to Algarve about Octoberish..so trying to get idea of cost!!

Hi Ellie. I drove up to London today and most garages have unleaded a 90.9p per litre, I filled up at the Shell garage just before you get to the M3 and that was 88.9p but haven't seen it cheap anywhere else.

Look on the bright side, Ellie, Hub isn't driving an American SUV......
(if he were, I'm not sure he could even make it to the coast without filling up at least three times......and those suckers have BIG petrol tanks)

Got a point djprescott... it would be hard for me to drive to Europe from here to fill up the tank wouldn't it?

BTW, the cost of a barrel of oil is the same in Texas as it it is where you live...taxes at the pump have a lot to do with the local price of "Push Water"
(local slang for Petrol..."Go Juice" is another).

Good question, Dave......

My understanding is that there is a Federal tax on gas, and the States are allowed to tack on any other taxes they can (and they do, to one extent or another)......

To complicate matters further, each State can have different refining standards (Califorina, for example) and that also pushes the price up.

Oil is quite a cash cow between the well head and the pump.
(and try to visualise the modern world without Oil)

I think this info is a little dated...yesterday I paid $2.39 per gallon (although I'm sure I could have found cheaper if I shoped around....but not much....how much gas do you want to use to look for cheaper gas, when it's really not that much cheaper anywhere else?)
