canoe trip from Portimao to Silves

I didn't know they did canoe trips? There is a river boat trip along the River Arade between Portimão and Silves. Time is dependent on the tide. You can pick that up from Portimão marina. It is a small barge/canal type boat. I did it recently....it was very nice. It cost € 10,00 each way. You can do one way or return.

Not sure if that is what you had in mind? I'll have to look out for canoeists.

Just going through some papers this morning and found the mobile nº of a lady called Virginia. She organised my tickets, as well as those of some friends of mine for the Portimão to Silves River boat trip. She was very helpful. We pre-booked our trip by phone and collected the tickets from her kiosk at Portimão marina before departure. She can give you the departure and return times save you having a wasted journey down there. The nº is 96 414 1282.

I canoed down river from Silves to the Fontes near Estombar in June and it cost me 10euros.It took abut 2 hours. I think it was organised by Silves Camara who arranged all the canoes as well. A portuguese friend of mine got me on it as I cant speak a word of 'pork n cheese'.

You could try the Boca do Rio Hotel and Nautical Club - they hire canoes out. I couldn't find their web site (although they do have one).

Anyone?
