Sesmarias
We have hired a villa in Sesmarias for a couple of weeks in August, but I have not been able to find out very much about the area, apart from it is not far from Carvoeiro. Could anyone give us any info please e.g. taxi time/charges from Carvoeiro, restaurants in Sesmarias etc.
We are driving down from St Malo and will obviously have our car to get around, but thought about hiring or buying bikes whilst in Sesmarias - any info gratefully accepted. Thank you.

Hi
Sesmarias is about 25 minutes to walk into CV, and about 35 mins to walk back, as its up hill most of the way back. You can't miss it as there is a tall water tower at the main road junction. There is an Ali Super mini supermarket a pizza place and several restaurants ranging from cheap and cheerful...Rosa's, to expensive and not very cheerful... Bom Bom. There is a busy restaurant/grill opposite Rosa's that is mainly Portuguese clients, and often has entertainment on a week end night.
The nearest beach is Caneiros about fifteen minutes walk which has a great restaurant on the beach. Sesmarias is also about five minutes by car to Ferragudo village which has some great restaurants and a great beach for children as it is inside the breakwater and therefore has a shallow beach and calm water.
A taxi will take about five minutes and cost approx 6 euros.
And best of all if you want to rent some bikes, then I can help you aout there too.
