House Insurance

Post by piglet »

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this problem

We are having a house built. Stage payments so the house(at whatever stage is always ours)

I checked with our lawyer to see if the house was insured (after reading about recent earthquakes). No was the response..the builder only insures for his workmen.

Question. we want to insure the property in case of damage ie earthquake etc. It is only at partly finished. HAs anyone come across this before or do you have any ideas please who we can contact for insurance.
Many thanks

 Hi Piglet, answered your e-mail before I saw this, you could try AFPOP as the other post on this forum has suggested, but the guy I have told you about got our house insured while it was at the begining of the renovations and then re assessed after the work was done, included earthquake insurance.

Hi Guest

If you get any sense out of him, please let me know. My builder does not speak any English.

I never thought about it until the earthquakes and floods, and at what point do they insure it?
