Building cost's

Hi can any of you local or non local folk help with thoughts on building quotes.We will be renovating an old farmhouse near Messines and adding on 100' metres pluss pool terracing, with store rooms underneath.The first quote in is working out abour euro 2800.000 complete with all tax's.Is this good bad or indifferent.Can anyone of you guys out there help.Many thanks. What is that price? Is it 2.8 million euros.

Sorry as usual did things in a rush, the quote we have works out approx 750 euro's per square metre.That includes woodburning fire and heating ducts + 5 radiators in addition to the usual buiding costs.We had been planning on cost's being max 650 per squ metre,but are just wondering if we under estimated.Peter, I know you had problems getting a 'good'quote so would really appreciate your views.Many thanks Liz

be careful on this way of costing....you can build a simple garage type place steel frame for 200 Euro per Sq. Metre.......or a simple brick build for 300 to 500.......REAL basic stuff......if you have a good job with heaters etc etc..600 to 750 is the norm......and a nice house will cost 1000 per sq metre.with nice tiles/coving etc etc.....now build one around any of the top Golf course areas not too far from Faro and expect to pay on average 1500 to 1800 per sq. metre.....IF you are very happy with the guy offering 750...and he is reliable etc etc.........I personally wouldbt spend too much time sqeezing him to death.........Its about right for a nice quality house.
