chip?

Post by eco/spider »

Hi sam, no, I only post on here under my name, as far as chips are concerned I'm only interested in those that you can make a butty out of. Been laying low for a week or two after making a prat of myself over lovely Ellie, but I'm sure she and the rest of you know that the only so called humans I go for are those that chase or club this planets wonderful wild life. I hope that moth eaten mob in the house of old farts don't shanghi the hunting bill, I really enjoyed watching the baying minority trying to justify blood sports, it's also a shame that a trigger happy copper didn't ventilate the arse of Brian Ferry's son and the other d*ck heads with him.

What a vulgar person.. A townie who thinks he is gods gift to the planet. How little he knows and understands. A modern day crusader with limited intelligence and even less appreciation of the realities of life. Suppose he would be againt the control of rats as well. He started off as a joke, then became sinister, and is now trying to redeeem himself

In that case Eco I retract my accusation, I think that most users on here realised that you had just made an error of judgement regarding Ellie, and being the great lady she is, has forgiven you. However, I still feel that there are some people on here with an axe to grind and I find this rather sad, some extremely asinine remarks about golfers with no real substance in their posts to justify their remarks. CVO being a fun place, I think it only right that this Forum should reflect this, I dont think nastiness has a place on here, just my opinion.

RE Postings

I found this site purely by accident and I think its great. Believe it or not there are not any active sites with regards to relocating to Portugal and all the stresses involved. There seems to be a good mix of people here and I have picked up some really useful information in advance. SO a big thankyou

I have found people extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If I want a serious reply to a question I would post in the Property Owners section.

Under General, there have been some very amusing and not so amusing posts, it is more light hearted. I think some things that are said in general conversation, face to face, change completely when written down and it is easy to take them the wrong way and people do get bent out of shape more easily.

I am sure nobody is really venimous. I have seen posts where more serious issues that have been really important to the person trying to gain information and help to other people has turned into a joke and a source of amusement.

I can understand peoples frustrations when you come to the forum for help, someone else may totally miss the point and I think the poor guy with the Koi question was a classic example.

It is nice to have a mix of posts but perhaps more serious topics should be posted under Owners section, separate from those who want to have a laugh.

Go for it guys tear this post apart
Its raining outside and we are really bored

 Beautifully put piglet and I agree with your comments, especially about putting serious topics on the owners forum, it can be very frustrating when you put a post on, hopeing for some help, and it turns into a sexual topic or a silly one, way off the mark of the original question.
You, like us are planning your move to the Algarve and have used this site to get help to questions from 'those who know' I have had some great tips and ideas from people on here, but you do get the others who just want to be nasty and rude.
Hope the move goes well, like Somerset, I expect Cornwall has been a bit cold and wet just of late. Roll on the warmth of Portugal.

just a quick thought or two ...has anybody ever not gotten an answer to a problem just because some guest makes a smart remark?..the craic with the fish was mainly my fault..too quick to react...and in fairness was way out of charecter for this forum..also a lot of the time the few add ons tend to keep the query up at the top for a while and gives more people a chance to answer.....now is there any chance that realist and eco could maybe debate the hunting issue...without the jibes...here on the forum...i for one wuold realy love to hear the pros and cons on this one....gerry

Hi Gerry

Yes, would love to join in the debate re the hunting issue as well. I am sure there will be contibutions from both side of the argument and at least on the forum there can be no broken bones

What about starting a new thread.

Yes, re the little jokes do keep the postings to the top, but that poor guy was getting seriously upset and I felt for him.

Anyway lets not dwell, and move swiftly on to other topics. Over to you to start the hunting thread.

Kind regards

Hi there Gerry..

and theres me thinking we would be going to be having ourselves a serious disucssion now. Gerry in serious mode...so would you be for or against the hunting ban, now?

Would you be siding with the sweet harmless little foxes, not. Or is it really about foxes at all, at all. That is the question or a much wider issue and the fox was just a decoy?

Surely the issue re the fox or hunting is now a sideline and really moving on from there...it is a matter of how the manner in which it was rushed through. What other little tricks have they in store for the unsuspecting and is this the way forward now for the elected party?
Wherther you agree or disagree with hunting our basic democrati rights have not been observed here.

vulgar?

Post by eco/spider »

No I'm not a townie, I live in the countryside, and I love it, the only thing that I dislike intensly is a bunch of chinless wonders dressed to look silly bouncing up and down on the back of a magnificent horse led by a load of hounds herded by an even sillier person blowing a horn. I have a real problem with this, because the aim is to chase a bushy tail and tear it to pieces and have a jolly good laugh. As for vulgar, I consider the pastime you and others like you carry out in the name of sport to be extremely vulgar, cruel and gutless. I always hope that when humans have virtually become extinct because of the way they have abused their right to rule this planet, the few remaining will be hunted by packs of dogs that are hungry, now there's a thought. As for Brian Ferrys son, consider what would have happened if he and the other stupid pratts had tried that stunt in any other country, he would have had more than his fat arse ventilated. Justify to me the clubbing of seal pups, harpooning whales to the point of extinction, ripping hares to bits, now that's more than vulgar. I would have a little more respect for murderers of animals hunted to death if they would just, for once, admit to enjoying it, and not come out with the usual claptrap about vermin and jobs. And in closing, for now, what about rats? I thought they wiped out over half of Europe a while ago, and still spread deseases, now there's something you lot could set your dogs on, be careful though, the really big ones are in packs and fight back. Lets get a debate going, no name calling, just down to earth facts on for and against.

And more then welcome you would be too..i didn,t realise we were sharing the same island...bit anxious about the stage comment..reminds me of the story about the bloke in the job interview whos trying despretaly hard to explain his fathers death by hanging for sheep stealing without actualy lying.....in the end he describes the event as a tragic accident while his father was attending a public gathering and the platform collapsed...by the way your not into moterbikes are ye ..met a guy and his wife from portsmouth in a remote cafe ...we were probably the only english speakers within a mile...and we were goin thru the where are ye from bit when yer man comes out with" the only place i,d know down south is faugheen" it,s a bit like saying your from leeds and being asked do you know paddy murphy who happens to be your nextdoor neighbour..anyway it turns out he came down for the faugheen 50 motorcycle race...small world. jaysus i only logged on to say howaya mike..listen i better go ..nice talkin to ye ..goodluck now ..gerry
