fundraising bombeiros

Post by Blobby »

copy/paste from "The Portugal News":

Don't forget your €10 is desperately needed...

For the 2 radio systems for the two new fire vehicles of the Silves Bombeiros. Fundraisers Angela and Vee still need another 270 people willing to give just €10 each so that these vehicles can become operational.

You can transfer your donation to Caixa Agricola, Silves, NIB No. 0045 7130 40177754609 50. The account is in the name of Angela Schulz-Henke.

They would also like to remind readers of the Dinner Dance taking place on Saturday, 2nd October at Restaurant Ponte Romana in Silves at 8pm. Tickets are €18 (€10 will go to the Bombeiros Fund.) There will be a 4-course dinner including wine, beer, soft drinks and coffee with live music, a raffle and tombola. To book call Angela on 936 384 275 or Vee on 282 799 681. For more information go to website: www.bombeiros-algarve.com.

 Thanks Blobby, where have you been hiding since you packed up working at Cricket St. Thomas here in Somerset, with your best mate Noel Edmonds?? hehe
I am glad you have raised the profile of the Bombeiros in Silves, they have had to do a terrific job for the past ?? years putting out the fires and risking their lives, they should be supported by all.
They have my 10 euros. What about everyone else???

In view of the problems that people seem to have had in transferring money through the internet to Portuguese banks (see sep forum item) is there anywhere in the UK that we can send / donate. I only say that as we won't be in the area for a few weeks. Friends are off to Carvoeiro next week, so is there an address (or as a last resort collecting tins / buckets) in the village? Good luck with the collecting and anyone going to the dinner dance, enjoy - it looks a good one!
