O Boteco
Hi all,
Has this reopened yet and if so has anyone ventured in? Would love to hear some reports.

It is open, only in the evenings I think. A bit more expensive than average but nothing too high, one would expect that in view of the location and the cost of refitting the entire peoperty, but strange heard no reports yet.

Ya, i thought it strange too Jaylay, i was expecting a big buzz due to its facelift and great location. Well its good to hear that its open anyway and I will be certain to try it when we are over again in August.Jaylay wrote:It is open, only in the evenings I think. Delighted to hear O Boteco is opened!! We walked past it a few times beginning of May and builders were workng away. Looking forward to trying restaurant out when we come back end Sep
Re: O Boteco
It looks amazing and has a new name Mar e Flores (I think) Good menu, very different to Barco. Shame its only open in the evenings because the view is superb and would make a great lunch venue especially at weekends.
It is getting quite full and may become one of CVOs best kept secrets

Yes Aldo, name something like that. Passed it today and there were folk in and appeared to be having lunch! Was going to write the new name down but so hot couldn't be bothered to take rucksack off and find my pen.Looks like new decor very smart, modern and fresh looking.

Maybe they realised the lunch time opening was a good move! When I spoke to Paul who is now head man and was previously at Barco he said evenings only. Must check again

Re: O Boteco
Thanks all for the reports and the correct new name, had a look online and found a few photos and it looks fantastic.
Last time we were over it was still a building site so it is great to see it up and running and looking so great. We will definitly be visiting it when over in August.
Delighted to see that wonderful location being done justice. Last time we ate in the old O Boteco we were harassed by cats trying to steel our food, they were actually on our table, it was off putting but also funny in fairness - only in Carvoeiro!!!

Re: O Boteco
For many years this was one of our favourite restaurants despite the poor reviews - we always had good service and good meals and the kids were always entertained by the waiters. I admit it had gone downhill over the last few years and we have not been there for the last 3 years. However, we are back in 2 days and I will definitely give it a go. Hoping for good things because it has a fabulous view and should be one of the best in Carvoeiro.

See you Saturday rich

bumped into Paul on restaurant hill last night and he confirmed they are now open for lunch

I thought the food & service was ok. It lacks a bit of atmosphere and the menus, branding and presentation are a bit amateurish. Having said that the food was very pleasant & we all enjoyed pasta served with various shellfish and sauces. Great location & sure to improve with experience.
