Retirement gome Ferragudo

Post by Paraiso »

A friend of mine is looking for a retirement home for his mother (86). Does anyone know if there is one to open in the near future in Ferragudo or is it just a rumour? The problem is that she just speak´s German .... or is there any retirement home you would recommend? Thanks for any information in advance.

Off Topic: Paraiso, if you EDIT your post you can change 'gome' to 'home' in the Topic.

Paraiso, check out this website. They publish a monthly magazine and I am fairly sure that I have seen retirement options advertising in it.

Hi,
We visited one up in the hills not too far from Faro.
Here are the details of it.

Monte da Palhagueira, retirement village and a nursing home alongside.
It is part of the Amesbury Abbey Group.

or visit

Address;
Monte da Palhagueira, Gorgoes, Sta. Barbara de Nexe, 8005-488 Faro, Algarve, Portugal.

I thoroughly recommend it, it is beautiful, family run and I really cannot praise it highly enough.
It has a very well known restaurant pretty much beside it which has won many awards and is in the Eastern Algarve magazine.

The trip alone to the area, restaurant, English church etc is a trip very much enjoyable.

Hope this helps
