Ferragudo Taxi Cost

Post by cdnp »

Hi Everyone,
Just wondering if someone could tell me, how much do you think a taxi from the Carvoeiro to Ferragudo would cost

Also does anyone know, in may does the beach bar at Ferragudo have music on and is if so, is it advised to book a table and food in advance ?

Thank you :-)

Hi we did this last year and I'm sure it was around the 10 euro mark ( each way) the same as taking the small train from the square. Not sure about your other question .

Some information about the Tourist Train:

The tourist train ('comboio turístico') is a great way to travel around a town and helps visitors to get a feel for an area, which can be really useful on arrival, as well as providing cheap travel throughout a holiday.

Carvoeiro tourist train information:

Departs every 40 minutes.
Runs on a non-stop journey for 30 minutes up to Rocha Brava resort and back.
Runs daily from 10.00am to 10.00pm; except Tuesdays and Fridays between 11.00am and 3.00pm.
Departs from the square at the bottom of the hill, near to the tourist information office.
The price is between €3-5
On Tuesdays and Fridays, the Carvoeiro tourist train takes visitors over to Ferragudo for a tour of the village and leaves 2 hours free to explore. The train departs from Carvoeiro (near the tourist information office again) at 11.00am and returns at 2.00pm. Adult tickets cost €10 and children's tickets cost €8. To book a seat on the tourist train to Ferragudo, book with the driver of the train.

Please note: Some tourist train organisations may reserve the right to cancel tours without prior notice, due to the maintenance of the vehicles, weather conditions or insufficient number of passengers.

Last time we got taxi to Ferragudo, cost €10 which included a decent tip. We were going from close to Sesmarias and took the non-coast route entering Ferragudo on the 'canal road'.
