Chinese in Lagoa
Chinese in Lagoa
Has anyone given this place a go, I've passed it on numerous occasions but never ventured in, is it rubbery!
Re: Chinese in Lagoa
Much better than the others in the village
Re: Chinese in Lagoa
WE go there at least once a week -friendly staff, good food, (kept hot on warming trays at the table), complimentary prawn crackers when you sit down, wine prices a bit below other places, reasonable decor. They hold the door door for you when leaving (nice touch). We always go there the first night after we arrive.

OK then....you can take us there!!Canada wrote:WE go there at least once a week -friendly staff, good food, (kept hot on warming trays at the table), complimentary prawn crackers when you sit down, wine prices a bit below other places, reasonable decor. Personally I wouldn't bother. Whilst better than the really dire places in the village it is not a patch on most mid-way Chinese restaurants in the UK.

Re: Chinese in Lagoa
Ironically, the best Chinese we have been to in years, was in Vancouver, Canada!!
Re: Chinese in Lagoa
Well then I'm really suprised that Canada recommends this place, it's very much on a par with 1970's chinese in the UK. Poor, better than Carvoeiro but still poor.
Re: Chinese in Lagoa
Blue, I am only comparing it to other Chinese restaurants that we have tried in the area NOT in the entire world!blue wrote:Well then I'm really suprised that Canada recommends this place, it's very much on a par with 1970's chinese in the UK. Poor, better than Carvoeiro but still poor.
Most of Vancouver's population is oriental so I am not surprised that they have excellent restaurants there.
Bruce, we might not be very good company on our 1st night after being up 36 hours or so, but another night is a date.

Well that's not much of a recommendation. I'm just surprised you go there once a week when you're used to quality Chinese food at home.Canada wrote:Blue, I am only comparing it to other Chinese restaurants that we have tried in the area NOT in the entire world!blue wrote:Well then I'm really suprised that Canada recommends this place, it's very much on a par with 1970's chinese in the UK. Blue, I could eat Chinese food 3 meals a day all year. Good, bad mediocre ---it's all okay with me.
