Can anyone identify a plant for me?

Post by Eagleburger »

Each time I come to Carvoeiro, I'm struck by a large bush like plant with long leaves ans pink flowers, with a wonderful honey-like scent. You see them everywhere.

I would really appreciate someone letting have the name of this plant please...

Many thanks

Thanks all! Certainly can't grow it in Blighty. It's really poisonous too. Funny how you see it growing in / next to school playgrounds across the Algarve...

It makes a glorious hedge, both our neighbours have them & you can't see a thing through them, which is really annoying for someone as nosey as me.
We have them in our garden too but not as a hedge, white, red & pink ones.
