How do you log onto the forum?

Post by Michael Crane »

There are two main ways in which members log onto this forum.
  • 1.Via the main web pages on www.carvoeiro.com and then to the forum

    2. Directly from a bookmark thus bypassing the main web pages

Bookmarked via the main page with the webcam. It's that little piece of blue sky that keeps me going until the next time I see it for real!!

I have to be honest, the number (so far 66% to 30%) of members using the web site as their point of access is far more than I expected.

Is this because they already have the web site as a Favourite and they don't know how to make the forum a Bookmark . . . or is it a real preference? :?

I start on the main web page because I always go to the weather cam first and then on to the forum after that.

I only go to the Home page to book a hire car, see if it's raining or go to the newsletter. Otherwise it's a Favourite link to New Posts.

Straight to the home page to see the web cam for me also.

I'm not sure what the relevance of this market research is?

Do people dislike the structure of the site?
Dislike the home page?
Only want to log on to the forum?

Idle curiosity?

Proving Mr Crane's original theory was wide of the mark?

Very wide! It was designed to see how many of us didn't bother going via the web site thus avoiding seeing what was happeneing in the village.

I am now considering polling how many of you lot could have answered Dylan's Question! :P

I voted wrong! I go to the bookmarked website and then directly to the Forum - occasionally I check the news papers in Englis- Resident etc.

Well I might as well add my comments.

I always log on to the main website to see what is happening in the village and the web cam.

The Forum is deteriorating into a place for people who have nothing better to do than to post the most inane comments I have ever come across. It used to provide really useful and interesting information. Sadly that no longer seems to be the case

Chit Chat is for the inane comments - that's why Steen set it up, to stop us being inane in General.

The forum still does provide really useful and interesting information - a lot of it. The two coexist quite nicely. Perhaps some topics in Chat Chat aren't to everyone's taste, but if there are some like that - don't read them.
