Question for people with children

Post by lagermeister »

We are planning on putting quite a few DVDs in our rental property this year and, as we dont have kids ourselves, need to be enlightened on what movies they watch. We have Harry Potters so maybe some ideas for maybe 4 - 6 year age group, and older kids.

Thanks but I do not know of anyone with kids of that age in UK.

My 'children' are 13,13 and 16, and I find that you can't go wrong with any children from age 12 and up with lots of Only fools and Horses DVD's
(great for adults too)

I think some of the Walt Disney classics are always worth having around.

You can't go far wrong with any Disney DVDs, kids and adults love them as they hit the target at so many levels.

Dora the Explorer is good from ages 3-6 and both boys and girls watch these DVDs. Toy Story, High School Musical, Dad's Army (bizarre, but definitely true!). Lazy Town, Thomas the Tank for the slightly younger ones.

My kids like to watch whatever is the latest thing really, especially the computer animated stuff - Cars, Over the Hedge, Surfs Up, Happy Feet, Shrek, Ice Age, The Simpsons Movie, etc. etc. and they are young (3-6).

That's why I think the classics might be a safe bet, most of the children will have seen all the latest DVD's at home recently.

Maybe, maybe not. I struggle to get mine to watch anything like Winnie the Pooh or other classics but they will watch and re-watch the same new films.

Really? That's such a shame, the old ones Bambi, Snow White, Dumbo, Cinderella, etc. are so brilliant. I know the new animation is really clever, I love a lot of the new films, but it just doesn't have the same feel.

Its a strange one with the classics. I can get them to watch the Flumps though and Bagpuss.

It's a great idea if you're renting to family and friends, but how many dvd's do you think you'll have at the end of the season renting to Joe Public??

I ask this because I've had real crappy (I mean really dreadful ones) pictures stolen AND they were screwed onto the wall!!!

Is there a DVD rental place in Carvoeiro? I know there is in Lagoa but I can't think of one in Carvoeiro.
We've stayed in Villa's in the past that were equiped with everything CD'S, DVD'S, board games, garden toys etc. Very much appreciated by us.
