Does someone know or could recommend a company who would check on a property when the owner is absent. We have an apartment in the centre of Carvoeiro which is only used for our own peronal use. We would like someone to check on the property on a regular basis when it is vacant.
Hi, we only use our property for personal use. Our agent has given notice, and we need someone to keep an eye on the place, and pay bills as necessary. Any recommendations?

You could all save yourselfes a fortune by putting all your bills on direct debt and just pay a maid to come in once a week to check all is well.
Why pay a maintaince company??? unless youve got money to burn.
We dont even do that , we take all sheets etc to be washed we only use for personal use, put all bills on standing order and give everywhere quick clean when we arrive
Personally, it is not the cleaning that bothers me when my place is not lived in, but checking that everything is OK. Having it cleaned and prepared for visits is just a bonus!
I know that I would worry if I didn't have Mazza coming in once a week to check that things are all OK.
I agree with fmm. Having an agent means things get spotted and dealt with quickly, and complies with insurance requirements. I know of people who have tried to save the money by not having an agent, and have lived to regret it due to damage/loss through undetected flooding or theft.
