Are there any furniture shops selling furniture packages or are there any MFI, IKEA type shops in the Algarve. I have seen nice furniture shops - expensive- but no middle of the road type.

try habitat in lisbon they deliver to algarve..or moviflor the other side of faro

There is Moviflor in Olhao - just east of Faro. They are say the MFi equiv.

We have recently bought a villa and have had problems locating reasonably priced, modern furniture. There is an excellent shop near to the Algarve Shopping Experience on the way to Faro. Travelling from Carvoeiro on the 125 it is on the right just before the Algarve Shopping centre. It sells everything you may need - however delivery is extra and not 'cheap'. Makro on the opposite side of the road has some good bargains if you have a trade card. There is an Ikea opening in Lisbon - but not until next year!

Hi Terri

I have just completely set up a two bedroom apartment. As far as I know, nowhere sells furniture packs as such but the new retail park on the N125 just west of Albufeira, by Algarve shopping has some good shops. There is one store "Conforama" which sells MFI type furniture and is very good for electrical products. There is also a "Home Sweet Home" which is a bit like our "The Pier" store and "Casa" which is great for kitchen equipment and nik naks. If you have a Makro card, you can use it in the Makro just opposite this retail park. The hypermarket in Algarve shopping - Continente - is also great for crockery, cheap lighting, linen etc.

We were initially struggling to find good quality middle of the road furniture, we eventually found a little industrial unit just outside Albufeira, called 'Changes' which is run by English staff who import their furniture from England. We found them to be very helpful and reasonably priced. We bought a good quality sofa bed, 2 beds and a dining set from here. If you want any further details let me know. Does anybody know where I can get lined ready made curtains with maybe duvet covers to match for my apartment. I want nice bright, but tasteful ones - cheap!! - preferable a store nr to CVO
