SULLY'S BAR AND THE WINDMILL BAR.THE GOOD OLD DAYS

Post by anil »

Do any of you good old folks out there know what ever happend to Steve from sully's BAR. He was the owner as far as i know, it was around 1989/1990.(i know it was long long time a go,)I had the best time of my life . Carvoeiro was much nicer with lots of fun loving people from all over the world. I know most of them were timeshare sellers, but at least you enjoyed their company at nights at the bars like sullys, and the old WINDMILL which is gone now where some new fancy shiny place now stands (opp the chinese restaurant) just up the hill from sully's.. It was run by couple from holland. and 2 sons. I dont know what happened to them?

I used to enjoy the sully's bar and steves nice sense of humour. Him and his good wife made me feel very welcom, and at home especially in the winter months. and having just moved to the algarve, and FEELING lonely in the new place. Hoping to someday meet up or communicate with this colourful and funny person that steve is .,If any of you know what happend to him or where he is now a days please do let me know.
Or if any of you who were in CVO around 1989-1992 might feel like sharing their thoughts on what it was like then GOOD or BAD no matter.

It seems generally the life in the algarve is not the same as it used to be few years ago, especially the time prior to Portugal joining the EU , I think life was much more nicer, and people were less money orientated, and much more friendly, and welcoming than nowadays. There was genuine SERVICE WITH A SMILE approach than now a days. Well this is what i have observed along the past few years ,but i could be wrong.I am sure some of the other members will wish to share their thought , and enlighten the new comers.
 :D

We used to frequent Sully's barr at one time, around 12 months ago. Since is has been taken over we have been there just once and found the music too loud and didn't feel welcome at all. This is just personal though as others out there may feel different about the place. Guess things have to change and this bar certainly has.
As regards CVO in general, we are in our 5th year of owning a place here but still find it great to come back to as there are other great places to drink and eat that make it worthwhile, roll on Sept. :D
