Restuarants we like this trip to CVO in Oct

Mistrals,
Ma Ja's,
A Gale,
Mona Lisa's,
Mama Mias,
Escodedenias whatever its is spelt, you know the one, with egg on the top,
Chicken George,
O'Branco,

Not in any order of preference, but all were great ,and if still as good we will be back next April.
Cost wise from medium to low priced.
We heard a lot about the Island Cafe and how all seemed to enjoy it, but at 25 Euros for a steak, count me out.
This time we did not visit any luxury venues mainly cos I drank to many jugs of Sangria, wine and lots of cocktails. First time drunk on fruit, at least I had my vitamin c intake!!!

This time around. Had a drink in MaJas. On Simon's recommendation, went to Casa Algarvia for the swordfish which was excellent. It looked like the other customers were enjoying their meals as well. Especially the kids with big juicy steaks on stones. So nice one Simon. Then Tuesday night had the monkfish at Elle & Ella's. Have hardly eaten a thing since as it must have been dodgy!

well done baggy - I reckon if you combined your October review with mine anyone would end up with a very good across the spectrum sense of where to eat in CVO. Not so sure about the Sangia though - I'll stick to the Perramanca if you don't mind !

Hi Sally J,
Pleased you put two of our "locals" in your list, Escondidinho and O Branco. Bit worried about O Branco, since it was very quiet when we last visited, and has already closed for winter. If you want to visit Island Cafe, and not spend serious money try a burger. About as far away from McDonalds as you can get, and I'm not usually a burger person.

Thanks for the tip Barry, we will try it out next visit.
O'Branco was mega quiet when we visited, just our table of four, but we made up for it in noise, jolity etc.
Proved the point that is juxtaposed to the uk, that even the quietest places to eat in Portugal can be really good whereas in the uk you seem to avoid the empty ones

You can get a very good burger at 'Le Doce', on the out road and next to the Anteak bar.
I had a fab cheese burger in bun with salad and a luvverly milkshake(passionfruit)..it was very good and cheap!
They also do a great cheese toasty there..the cheese has a 'herb' in it, and is very tasty
