Now that our arrival (after five years) in CVO is very soon I am looking for current views on this perennial question. In the old days we liked the meat at Le Bistrotheque on the hill (Estrada do Farol) as it was always tender and usually had great flavour ( imported from Argentina via the Netherlands or so I seem to recall being told by the delightful hostess-owner) but the restaurant has gone now.
We always seek the perfect combo of taste and texture and for a good steak we are prepared to travel beyond CVO. Please provide details and directions.
We used to go to Le Bistrotheque all the time as well just for the Steak, Diana went home and the owner died last year.
We love the Steak House a couple of doors up from the Le Bistrotheque, they are all really nice and the fillet on the stone is yummy....and it is not bad price
I have said it before, and after just returning I stand by what I have said many times before, the best fillet steak in CVO can be found at Colombos .
Even though our apartment is in Portimao but we always make sure that we visit Colombos during our stay for a steak.
For me Chef Antonio did us a great tornado steak, just come back from a 17 day stint in CVO, first day back, depressed, back to cooking for hubby....

Why don't you try the Troppo steak? Troppo is a new restaurant in CVO, it opened very recently. It has mainly pizza and pasta but they have two steaks that are very good. My husband ate the Troppo stake and liked it very much.

Perhaps your recommendation will be taken more seriously if you post on other subjects, not just Troppo restaurant - otherwise it might appear that your opinion is not altogether independent?
