O Leao de Porches

Regretful evening. Amuse no crab but shrimp. Cold served fried scallops and the John Dory not even close to a real one.
Substitute? Serves OK. "Chef"Cook Peter did not show up. Arrogant behaviour. Winelist OK. Wants to be different from other restaurants well..........

They are on their way: bad expierence thanks to "cooking"O Leao de Porches

We have visited O Leão many times since Peter and Bianca took over the place. Have never been disappointed, not about the dishes, nor the service. Apparently a lot of guests have had the same experience as the place is always packed, and it is advisable to book ahead if you want to go there.

Somehow I doubt Marcello's intentions. A new member who joined one day before he opened this topic. Actually, he opened the exact same topic in the 'Food' section as well, just to make sure one could not miss it. Perhaps Marcello is having a personal problem with Peter, and is trying to get back at him this way?

I sincerely doubt whether we will ever here from him again...

I have absolutely no intentions to hurt people in the profession they perform. That evening we were glad to have a table because we knew the restaurant is always packed.
We know both Peter and his wife from Chrissy's Lagoa and they even spend some time there at our table. I was flabbed by his cooking that time.
It is always possible that something is not going the way it has to go. But show up, perform like a chef and protect your Restaurant.
Do not leave it over to a salesman to react on my writings on the forum.
I still have the remains of a regretful evening. At restaurant Evaristo the next day I was able to forget. Marcello the Netherlands

Whilst Chrissy's was a good but somewhat variable restaurant, I have to say that recent reports I have had from friends about Leao's are that it is simply not as good as it used to be.

WE're arriving in CVO on Tuesday :D so maybe we will check it for ourselves
