We own timeshare at Monte Carvoeiro. It is a great resort if a little tired in places. Ideal location with sea views from many apartments. Good facilities and only a short walk to the village... and a steep climb back up. The restaurants around the fountain are ideal if you don't want to venture too far. The pool is great and gardens kept beautifully. If you google monte carvoeiro and indicate images you should get quite a good sample of pictures of the resort. Good luck!

Thank you very much Janey, for your information. I will go and see on google what I can find.
The week I am ready to buy is 20th (19th to 26th May), so I would like to get the more information possible before going.
Thanks again for your help

Hiya,
We are renting an apt there in April and early May 4 15 days. We know the area well but it will be our 1 st time staying at that little resort. Will let you know what its like on our return in early May.
We are also thinking it may be an ideal place to buy. But buy if possible rather than time share as we want to use it a lot and rent it out. Looking at a number of options at the moment.

Thank you in advance baggysallyjane, I look forward to receive your impressions.
For the timesharing I use the service of Wolrdwide Timeshare Hypermarket, they are very serious and there are some opportunities for the Monte Carvoeiro Clube. I think I will do the same as you, that is to say use it a lot and rent it out from time to time.

Hi,

We stayed there 2004. Would agree with others - fab location & views, very nicely lanscaped grounds etc, and althogh v nice 2 stoey appt, it was looking pretty tired in places - wobbly doors on kitchen units etc.

Do check out the monthly fees also. My father in law has a timeshare in Scotland, and whilst the intiial purchase didn't break the bank, the ongoing charges do!

Don't want to spoil your fun, but do check it out.

Although CVO was beyond our menas, we bought outright in Lagos which is also beautiful, less cliquey, and now very accessible with motorway.

good luck! :D

Please also think about contacting the resort if you are interested in buying timeshare. They have a list of available weeks/units and you may get a better deal than via Timeshare Hypermarket. The sales office is based at Monte Carvoeiro reception and the person to talk to is Chris Cottis. She has been at the resort for many many years. Tel No. for the resort office is 00 351 282 350 111. Current maintenance fees are 410 euros for 1 Bed and 515 euros for 2 Bed units. Hope this is useful.

Thank you everybody for all your information. In fact I gave an installement (I don't know if it is the good word) so I think I don't have the choice anymore.
Perhaps I was a bit too rapid, I should have wait until having advices like the ones you gave me.

Belgian

Post by SJ & RE »

 Hi there Chevaux,
Have 4got all my Belgian. My father was Belgian, well I should say Grandad was Belgian, annexed from the Belgian Royal family cos he married my Grandmother after his first wife died and my grandmothers first husband died. Grandad came over after the 1st WW after being gassed. I did learn Flemish but I cannot remember a word, sorry. What a small world.
I shall give a fellow country man a good report on our return, thats after you remind me. Many thanks for wishing us a good hols. Goes without saying when one goes to CVO. XX

Hello Baggysallyjane,
The world is small as you said!!! In fact I live in the french part of Belgium, I did learn flemish too but not practised much and... I am not a man, I just took the name of "chevaux" (which is masculine) because of my horses... I am always sure to remember this surname that is also why I keep it...
