Automated Irrigation Systems

Does anyone know of a company who quote for and install automated garden irrigation systems?

Hi Andara...
it is really easy to do yourself...and believe me we were not technical..

However, there is a company on the trading estate where Giant Bikes are located in Lagos. If you follow the side road up behind their unit you will see a unit selling matresses, garden furniture and all sorts...very good prices(we bought some fantastic garden loungers there)

Next door to that is an irrigation place....yes you guessed it we found it after we had bought all the kit to do ours. It would have worked out a lot cheaper!!

Many thanks for the reply, Piglet. I never thought of doing it myself, I'm sure I'd botch it up - I'll certainly take a trip to your recommended supplier when I'm next out in CV in November.

No problem....I thought it was going to be really complicated.

In fact it looked more complicated than it was. However, we do not have anything fancy...and have kept it very simple.

We started ours when we were out in August, went to the DIY place on the N125 just as you get to Lagoa (by Barclays bank) bought the regulators for the taps and all the different pipework needed with as many different bends and attachments as we thought we needed. It was quite simple really only thing was we had to go back a couple of times to get more/different bends and drippers. Was surprised how easy it all was.

So go for it if I were you, these companies charge quite a lot to set up the whole thing. It is much more fun and rewarding to do it yourself.

Silly question maybe, but did you bury the pipes or just leave them on the top of the garden?

We have chipped bark on most of the garden so we covered the pipes with this, just leaving the nozzles to poke out to do the watering. We got various types of nozzle, some just drip some do a sort of star spray and some do a shower, it depended where in the garden we wanted the right amount of water. It was good fun sorting it all out, definitely a job all the family can play, well we all did....
