Shouldn't have tempted fate there Digs. I have just reconnected after losing power several times, and then having a lightening storm go overhead. It is absolutely chucking it down and so windy up here. Wild...

Why can't Portugal cope with a storm and still have an electrical supply in the 21st Century?

Mind you I quite like sitting by my fire with a candle.

I think I’ll leave her running (I guess she’s no more likely to blow up than the microwave) but will give her a rest occasionally.
She does go into hibernation every night and is cold in the morning ….. unlike the wife ….

My magic wand is set up for once per session validation. Opera is fine, all you need to do is tweak it to do what you prefer.

Please can any Techies help?
I once had Google earth running very well on my laptop but when I went to update it - it failed to operate correctly ever since. I have since uninstalled it and reinstalled it to no avail and even e-mailed google about it but nothing helped. I've gone into my Norton Internet Security and allowed pop-ups and checked my firewall settings for Google earth, but when i click on Google earth it opens the main screen and a little window saying 'performing google earth server login' but thats all it does - it just freezes up after that and i cant use it or close it down.
Any suggestions?

Try this John, go to control panel, click on add/remove programs, select google earth and then remove it. Close down your machine (not restart, but turn off). Turn on your machine again, and reinstall Google earth and it should work. . Its possible your previous uninstall did not clear/remove all of the files.
