I heard earlier on the radio Paddy Power saying that he is going to give odds against airports being closed due to the volcanic ash- if so it will be possible to have a bet on a closure and thus get a form of insurance. I can't find anything on the web site yet but it seemed a serious proposition

Many thanks for the replies, general consensus seems to be keep the money. Myself I,m hoping not to lose more then 2 or 3 client sand at that rate it.s probably fairer to just refund the full amount. Almost all the clients this year are families so there's kids and granny s and everything. Whatever about losing your holiday but losing the wherewith-all to provide an alternative.........Ah for the sake of a few bob, there have been years when the bookings were thin on the ground and I didn,t starve then. Shame really ...this looked like being a great year.

Dont be so bloody pessimistic Gerry.........

Now, hopefully, the summer weather pattern has set in, the prevailling wind will be from the southwest, which means that the ash cloud will be pushed to the north of the UK and up into the Arctic.

Secondly, there is a growing and authoritative consensus which suggests that the met and scientific community over reacted terribly to the potential danger, and that the danger threshold will be set much higher in the future months.

So lets not write off the 2010 season before it has hardly started.
