An earlier post said..what about Dean......???...Dean is a very nice chap that picks up and delivers without fail people to / From Airport......But I would like to know if he is really legal before I use him.........anybody know ?
Bravo Tur Alvara number 832/1996 we are also members of APAVT. Just in case anyone wanted to know.
It is nice to see that people are starting to worry about booking with a legal company. It is very expensive to keep a fully licensed travel agency running, we have high tax, various insurances, social security payments etc.... You average illegal transfer guy pays none of this! So it is quite fustrating to see them pulling in and out of Faro on a regular basis, and they under cut everyones rates! And of course they can their expense is just the fuel!!!
Do I understand this correctly?
A taxi driver, who is actually trained to drive and probably a quite experienced driver, can't take you to the airport whereas a travel agent who is trained to exaggerate the delights of your holiday hotel can.
I must be misreading somehow.
Yeah I'm confuesd by this too PM
Is travel agency saying having ordinary taxi transport to and from Faro is illegal..that we're not covered by insurance?

I would assume that the people 'travel agency' is referring to are those individuals using their own private vehicles for transfers, and who would not have commercial insurance to carry passengers.
Taxis are licensed and would therefore have a business insurance

I would assume this too - and I would also assume that you don't get Guests or members for that matter to answer what is a perfectly sound question by derriding their profession - but it seems that is what we have come to expect from some people.
And I would assume that people who claim that only travel agents can take people to and from an airport would go quiet once rumbled. The original post is likely nonsense and possibly an attempt to drum up trade by scaring peeps.
Of course if the OP would reply it might be a different matter.
Am I not insured then,if I take freinds or relatives to or from the airport(or anywhere for that matter)and they pay me for the fuel?
Dean(for example) may have lots of "freinds",who would know?
