If you had ever spent a saturday night in the grande place in Brussels BORING would be the last thought on your mind.

What have the recent flush of attachments got to do with CVO.

Are green day actually going to perform or is someone just showing off.

Bit of reading difficulty here.
I said that responses on this forum would not affect tourism in a part of belgium. Which is probably true, complete rubbish and obviously made up.

I think everyone should chill out.

Just because there isn't a flurry of posts on the forum doesn't mean that it's boring.

And because it's winter and the tourist season has ended doesn't mean there is nothing to do in the Algarve (right Roy! )

Nuff said.

I dont really remember. I think they made a number of references

I've just found this one:

http://www.ibras.dk/montypython/episode37.htm

see the red bit near bottom of page >>>>>

"Well now, the result of last week's competition when we asked you to find a derogatory term for the Belgians. Well, the response was enormous and we took quite a long time sorting out the winners. There were some very clever entries. Mrs Hatred of Leicester Said 'let's not call them anything, let's just ignore them' ... (applause starts vigorously, but he holds his hands up for silence) ... and a Mr St John of Huntingdon said he couldn't think of anything more derogatory than Belgians. (cheers and applause; a girl in showgirl costume comes on and holds up placards through next bit) But in the end we settled on three choices: number three ... the Sprouts (placard 'The Sprouts'), sent in by Mrs Vicious of Hastings... very nice ; number two..... the Phlegms (placard) ... from Mrs Childmolester of Worthing; but the winner was undoubtedly from Mrs No-Supper-For-You from Norwood in Lancashire... Miserable Fat Belgian Bastards. (placard; roar of applause) Very good - thank you, Carol. (Carol exits) But as you know on this programme we're not just prejudiced against race or colour, we're also prejudiced against - yes, you've guessed, stinking homosexuals! (applause) So before the streets start emptying in Chelsea tonight, Let's go straight over to our popular prejudiced panel game and invite you once again to - Shoot The Poof! And could our first contestant sign in please"

BRUGES..."The city of Bruges is like a dream, the only difference is that it is real". (It would appear not a lot of people know that).

To our Belgian friends keep the Chocs coming and I'll keep the salt coming..

Nightrider  :)

Yeah, they need salt. Last time Sharen and I were there it was in the middle of winter and the roads and pavements were just one big sheet of ice!

Gritters? What are they? Never seen one!

Thankyou Mr Hatred of Lincoln.

That's a great site Digger, I didn't realise scripts would be that funny to read. And the guy likes Spikes Jones too. I bought a Spike Jones CD in a motorway services near CVO for 3 euros. (successfully brought back to a cvo discussion, yay for me.)

Hi Michael,

Just to set the record straight, there is a certain special salt that our Belgian friends like to cook with. Our Belgian friends living here in the Algarve and when I visit the Uk I bring it back for them (ie I have never seen it here in Portugal).

They in return supply B.Chocs..I think I have the best end of the bargain  :)

Good one Digs! :)
In reference to my post of last night re: Belgians covered in chocolate( :P )..you can blame a young Aussi for that-Merlot 2004!
But my oldest and best friend does live in Belgium-close to Antwerp-married to Rene shes been there over 35 years.
Rene is a complete Anglophile and especially loves the Brit humour,Monty Python particular with BlackAdder a close second.
My fav.pythons are the ' attack with fresh fruit' / and Hell's grannies who beat up young blokes
p.s. Night seems a fair exchange to me :)
