i thought the hanger was for the new heliport there is a blue helicopter there doing flight testing
the hangers for the 747 are going to be next to the existing passenger terminal which is going to double in size
i have heard that a operator is going to use 5no SE 5 airplanes for flights to the uk and helicopter transfers to all parts of the algarve

I live near to the Aerodromo (Overlooking it ) and I am very concerned at the goings on there. That Blue helicopter is not a small private one I presume because it is often flying many people around....I think its just the next step in local commercialisation and airport expansion and yes I beleive the new Hangar is for a heliport as ths machine is parked there...( I can see it now)
I have also seen small jet aircraft landing there quite often...with passengers alighting. What next I ask ...IF they do start 747 runs I for one will be objecting strongly because it is a protected (Bird Sanctuary) area to the west...but I fear my cries will fall on deaf ears...

i was a huge fan of f1 in the days of Hill, once he left the scene i lost intrest 4 a couple of years and just watched a race here and there. But since last year i have regained my intrest 4 the sport, which coinsides with the downfall of schumacher.
Personally i would love to see F1 come back to Portugal. It would show the country to more people and boost the economy dramaticly

Could be a track on which you could put an F1 car rather than an F1 track. Bernie hasn't said anything and the calendar is full.
'Visitors to the new park will be given the opportunity to test out real Formula 1 racing cars' . Oh no they won't. Writing dumb things like this tends to make the rest of the article a little suspect.
Sounds like a lot of hype to me.
Well, if it doesn't work out, they could paint it green and drill 18 little holes at intervals round the circuit

It feels like PM is on the right track here (groan!)
Lots of hype, and what we will probably see is a 1/10 scale go-kart track with F1 lookalike cars and maybe a museum with a Minardi reject body shell or similar.
I'm sure if it was really a possible Formula 1 venue, Bernie would not be holding back with the pre-announcements.

Bernie has bugger all to do with it at this stage......( Other than wave his wand)..right now its up to Bemposta ..with the money... and the FIA bodies...they can only build and wish......If Bemposta build as they say they will......they will probably get A1 approval status and then they have to start talking to Bernie......They might get CIK approval for kart racing but even the CIK calender is booked out for 5 years.. ( and a Kart track is FIVE MILLION)
Euros.....for a full International plus approvals.etc....( This years World Champ Kart Champs is in Braga ......Multi Million deal...) I'm boring you all to death I know..but my point is that Bemposta do have 90% of the approvals......and they have a very good Chance to proceed with this track.....They have the money....and most approvals..BUT not all......If you object ...start lobbying.......or Shut up.....and it will happen.......
I should say that I have been involved with Karting to F1 with many people ..including Bernie..for 30 years.......Please dont take this track too lightly.. If you are against it.say so now.........If you support it..Good ..in My opinion.....
As a footnote I spoke to Frank Williams last week .....( He has no authority whatsoever on this track..) He know little about it.....But his very personal opinion was that a new Portuguese Track would be acceptable after the demise of Lisbon...which can never meet the conditions ..( Just like Brands Hatch) .But he questioned the ability of Portugal to meet the conditions......It was interesting.even frank knew of the Portuguese desease of Beauocracy and procrastination-----
