It was the way I interpreted your "I will not reduce our price either" comment - sorryLICY wrote:What made you think it is the same as summer
Thank you - it will be the first time - the last time we were in there it was The Black Stove and this time last year it was work-in-progress while it was being refurbished. You know who strongly recommends itLICY wrote:Enjoy The Wolf by the way
Incidentally - we're staying in your old stomping ground!

Did you get my 2nd PM Liccy ?LICY wrote:What made you think it is the same as summer? I wish. I will not reduce our winter prices as they are the best part of a third of July/August price. Anyway I want to be in my villa on and off. Enjoy The Wolf by the way.shanagarry wrote:Am I reading this right - are you charging the same prices in Winter as you are in the Summer?LICY wrote:I will not reduce our price either

Re: Canadian renters!
We have just spent the evening in Villa Nova with 12 Canadians - and what lovely people they are. I/we now know the reason they choose Cvo for their 12-20 week Winter holiday. As per my previous post they are not the partying community - they are everybody's favourite Mum/Dad/ Granddad/Nanna/Uncle/Aunt and are attracted by the Portuguese people, the climate and the culture.
Those of you who want Winter lets have a huge market to aim at. You won't get Summer rates but you will get your property looked after by people who care and are respectful of the asset under their control. It's an untapped market and it's a lot longer than the Summer market. On average they look for 20 week lets between October and April.
They pick up the cost of utilities and if they are all like the people we met tonight - your property is in the hands of people who respect it as if is their own

Sounds OK but I would never get to stay in my own place, so not for me. I will get withdrawal symptoms July to mid October as it is this year.shanagarry wrote:We have just spent the evening in Villa Nova with 12 Canadians - and what lovely people they are. Re: Canadian renters!
Where would you advertise to attract enquirys from Canadian renters?
Re: Canadian renters!
You could try holiday lettings.
Re: Canadian renters!
Canada maybe!gernee wrote:Where would you advertise to attract enquirys from Canadian renters?
Re: Canadian renters!
That's a smart idea Pato I would have never thought of that one.
Re: Canadian renters!
We do advertise on Holiday letting , Owners direct etc. but I was thinking of maybe a site that was more specific to Canada.LICY wrote:You could try holiday lettings.
Re: Canadian renters!
I don't know what to suggest Gernee. We do very well with only advertising on HL's. Could it be people are looking for less bedrooms. We rent 2 bedrooms, never our third bedroom. Of course no idea on how many beds, how close you are to town etc. have you only just started to rent and maybe not so many know your home to let? All ifs, buts and maybes.
