The point I was trying to make was simply that if an established member recommends such and such, that is going to have more credibility than a first poster saying they recently stayed in such and such a villa that was really brilliant. Chances are they own the villa.

Wasn't trying to pick a fight, just do not understand the logic behind thinking a new member is any less credible than an old member. Some would say the old member is just as likely to self promote! I still think that this attitude is wrong and not particularly good PR for attracting new balanced debate.
