 Maybe I need to re visit this restaurant, I know it has had some good reviews and I did enjoy the food when we went there before a few years ago now. I just got really upset at being turned away for being on my own and obviously not worth letting a table go just for one person when they could have two instead, really got up my nose that, so I haven't been back since.

Maybe this year is the time to let old grievances go :?

I wasn't impressed last year LJ, the menu was a bit boring and the beef main course was fairly tasteless. The vegetables as previously reported were soggy and didn't suit the dish. Portions were also decidedly small.

Having previously enjoyed meals at Ele and Ela, perhaps it was going through a dodgy time. and Yes Bruce, the staff are very nice.

Sorry, Bruce, but I think Kim is off the menu. Understand, Ele is marrying Ela. If Kimmy is around she might like to confirm. :)
Mind you we can still look, can't we?

:D Had a lovely meal here on Saturday, the new menu looks really good. We all had something different from each other & everyone was very pleased with their choice. The restaurant was virtually empty though, unfortunately Carvoeiro's like a ghost town at the moment.

Kimmy will be pleased Bruce, that'll make up one decent table at least :D .
But can you not bring a few more along? I think it'll take a few more than that to make much difference on the town.

Blue, you underestimate the amount of noise we can make
Is there any way to see the new menu from Ele & Ela?

I don't think there is, but I can tell you that I had the fresh pastrami (beautifully pink & tender) with truffle oil to start, then the fish of the day which was corvina & both were absolutely delicious, the fish served with creamy mashed potato. One friend had the quail to start, another the (thai) fish balls (no comments please) & another the clams. Can't remember who had what for main course except one had the rack of lamb. We all enjoyed our meals very much.

So tricky at the end of February when I'm having a drink in Hemmi's I'll be able to hear you lot then?
