The rules are clear, and the same ones are in use throughout the EU, and by now anyone who's travelled ought to know them. The guy following us through the security (not customs) checkpoint tried to carry through wine and brandy "hidden" in his carry-on, which was confiscated. He protested regally to them that he'd no idea he couldn't bring them through. But as we walked away, he turned to his other half and said "I told you we wouldn't get away with it".

I have always found the airport staff friendly and helpful. The security function is out-sourced but works very well

I like the new passport readers, too. That save a few minutes bothe in and out of the country. Life gets more like "Minority Report" every day!
