4X4 HIRE
If you say something funny it shouldn't need to be pointed out with a
, aussie's comment was so unfunny it could have been punctuated with a dozen
's wouldn't have made it any more humerous.
I think a lot of the time the

so I'm really not being an A1 bitch".

Innocent jibe! - you're right, you do have a sense of humour! - more like a jealous, spiteful mealy-mouthed comment at someone who can afford to hire an expensive car and doesn't want to cram into a Fiat Panda or the like. I also fail to see how you can be qualified to give a "smart" reply (more like smartass) to an innocent request from someone you don't know.aussie wrote:Isnt it wonderful how an innocent jibe can get you all writing.
Sorry Mr Crane aka" lege" for being a newbie with a sense of humour or attitude or whatever.
Fred I know you can decide what car to rent but you did ask for some sort of a smart reply especially with your choice of car BMW etc. Never saw too many of those at Faro, more your big nine seater converted vans.
Cant quite make it on foot to Carvoeiro.
Happy New Year to you all.
Hope you get whatever car you want Fred - careful not to run over any Aussies!

ITs one of lifes puzzles, of all the things in the world we should worry about what causes many individuals hackles to rise ??
Question their right to drive a 4x4>
Personally I have no problem just keep increasing the road tax, congestion charges etc etc and eventually they will go back to where they should be, half way up a mountain full of food for the sheep.
You know what they say BIG CAR Small """""

tbbr - let your hackles down - by all means have your 4x4s up a mountain - they can keep the caravaners, cyclists and campers company - then maybe the roads would be less congested.
However, I still believe in freedom of choice without being hassled, so unfortunately I would have to let them all down again - ah well, back to congestion.
Going off track slightly, I did her on the radio that it is calculated that all the pollution created by the UK in one year is the equivalent to all the pollution created by China in one day! Perhaps those people who really wish to change the world should focus on the real culprits, and not car drivers or people who want to be warm in their gardens.
Have a very happy Christmas and New Year.
ps - Laser - too many "s"s and not enough "r"s - Noddy would be upset

You, me and the other 500million plus in the " developed world " who have been polluting for the last 200 years can do something about the growth in China and India and that stop insisiting on ever cheaper clothes, toys electrical items etc ( where do you think they are made ).
We do not NEED large cars, we do not NEED to have patio heaters ( made in china ).
To misquote chairman mao , every journey starts with a single step.

We also do not NEED holiday homes or holidays abroad, but I'm not giving them up even if they do damage the local environment. We do not NEED champagne, fines wines, and single malt whisky but I'm not giving them up either. There are lots of things we do not need, but we have them and people have the right of choice in our country - probably not in China though.tbbr wrote: We do not NEED large cars, we do not NEED to have patio heaters ( made in china ).
So, tbbr, we must agree to disagree on this one.
I have to say to Fred that hiring a 4x4 over here is a very good idea at the moment.
It may be sunny again now but over the past couple of days its only been 4x4 that have been able to get about, even in the centre of CVO!
If you need to get along any road or track that hasnt been tarmaced then a fiat punto really wont cut it. I suppose you could walk...
(I put in a smiley just to make sure everyone knew it was a joke)
