WALK - FRIDAY 2 OCTOBER 2026 - PRISON WALK

Linda and Russell will be leading this slightly easier walk from the back of Silves. There is one gradual uphill near the beginning and some tarmac at the start and end. It is about 7kms so less than 2 hours.

Start:9.30 am as it’s still quite warm but please be there earlier if you want coffee. Meet at the cafe on the right hand side of the Jardim Largo Republica square at the back of Silves.

Directions : Drive to Silves, go over bridge and turn left on N124. After about 1km, you will pass the Continente suprmarket on the right hand side. Drive another 400m and turn right, almost doubling back on yourself.
Drive straight on for about 800 m ( going past the prison, the big white block on the left with barbed wire). The Jardim Tepublica square is straight ahead. It’s easier to park before the square as it gets busy.
