Walk Monday 5 November 2012 : Benagil

This is a circular walk, along the beatiful coastline from Carvalho to Marinha beaches, combined with the countryside behind. About 2 to 2.5 hours. Some uphill gradients , but nothing terribly steep. There will be some loose shale on some of the cliff paths.

Wear walking boots or stout trainers, and bring some rainwear, just in case. Walking poles are useful.

Shorts are not recommended , as some of the shrubs can be scratchy!

No charge, of course.

Directions : meet by beach bar at Benagil at 1000.
Parking should be OK, that time of year, on the steep down road. Alternatively, parking is available at the top.

I expect you all know how to get to Banagil. If not, then drive up restaurant hill and carry straight on for a couple of miles, pasing the Tivoli Almansur on your right. Just before Rocha Brava, turn left signposted Banagil & follow signs for another 2 or 3 miles.

saw Jackie & Bill today, they say that monday will be fine and they will be there too.....as will Yvonne & David....so should have a good group to keep you company, especially if Su and Mike make it again!

We have been meaning to visit Benagil for so long but just haven't made it yet so we are really looking forward to your walk. The forecast looks promising for Monday, so fingers crossed. regards Su and Mike

Hope it lived up to expectations Su and Mike.....10 of us had a good 2.25 hour walk, nice weather ( no rain ) but not as lovely as today!


Hope to see you all next monday, which will be a bit more taxing, but well worth it!

Nice to see all the familiar faces. Wish we were there - the weather looks much warmer than here (currently 6C in Toronto). We are still out walking but are definitely wearing more layers than you are! Looking forward to seeing everyone again in January. Brian and Penny

We were lucky with the weather on monday, yesterday it poured, but tuesday was sunny : you can't tell!
temp is 16-20 range at present
