June Visit
June Visit
Hi, just an update on the restaurants we visited last week.
Elliots in Monte Carvoeiro, Very mediocre, wouldn't go again, but to be fair the english owners were nowhere to be seen.
Lunch at Vila Nova, great as always.
That restaurant at that Beach beginning with C, faultless as usual.
Chicken Piri Piri from the takeaway on the in road. Great.
Pasta at the Italian at the Watertower at Sesmarais, very good, very busy.
Had lunch at Casa Lama at Benegil, very nice.
We visited Rachel and Sergio in Bar Telvez, its a lovely little place, hope they do well.
The town was much busier than it had been last June and the restaurants all seemed to be doing a roaring trade. Weather Very Hot.

Short answer is yes! the good ones anyway
read through this section. On your "money thread" I have five of us in my family and when they were little I used to spend £100 a day (less when it was Escudos) now.... the exchange rate is killing me, as a result I now eat out of an evening OR a lunch but rarely both and I am in no way tight but 3 good holidays a year and a few sneaky ones gets to you in the wallet
I will spend about £1800 on eating out in July and I dread to think what in Algarve shopping!!!! The missus likes the pink bubbly stuff in Reis Das Praias though Tricky, its her treat to sip a bottle and look at the view (me squirming over the cost not the beach)
Hi, Yes CM is right (btw, CM sent you a pm under your alterego)
You will have to book in advance at restaurants to be safe.
Regarding the prices and the euro, again I agree with CM, we have started to eat out either lunch or dinner and take-aways and bbq's and cooking like at home are becomming the norm.
I am dreading feeding three children (and a extra one for a week) and three adults for four weeks in August, perhaps I should start selling my belongings now
(I said my belongings
)
