Why - is she strong enough to pick you up and throw you in? - if so, Micky-d, you'd better be darned sure of that answer! Otherwise, the sound of the sea (hopefully not drowned by the background noises of the restaurant), the taste of Champagne and decent grub should do you nicely. Also - report back - too many people are taking an interest in what will happen, and I have local spies who will seek you out if we do not know the answer by the 12th (start of the shooting season?).

The florist at Intermarché supermarket is very good, really nice selection and gorgeous presentation. As you walk in, it's next door to the coffee shop at the right of the entrance. I believe the telephone number is 282 341877, but last time I went in the Portuguese lady didn't speak much English. Probably worth going in and pointing to what you want! Good luck

Thanks. Seriously guys - are there any perils/issues i should know about in terms of having a table on the beach in front of rei des Praias at 7 in the evening? Also, for you lucky locals, what time is sundown (roughly) at the moment over there?

If you stay onto the late evening at high season it becomes one of the areas upmarket nightime venues, you could come across such celebrities as Jose Mourinho.

Regarding a table on the beach I do not think this is a good idea. The restaurant is on stilts about 4m above the beach and at 7pm in August the beach will still be full of sunbathers so you will not be in the restaurant but below it and I think service there will be an issue. Give them a call and ask for the table I suggested earlier today. If you cannot get it then let me know by posting a reply and I will go and see Luis for you and try to resolve.

I also think on the beach may not be such a good idea, on the deck terrace overlooking the beach would be much better, if you want you can always take a stroll along the beach.

I also think at 7pm there will be a problem with the sun starting to set and someone has to face it with the layout they have. Sun setting at approx 8.50 ish when your going to be there
