Colombos

Ellie I hope you are not disappointed with Colombos, we had the worst meal ever there last October. The service is good just a pity the food is not of the same standard.

Bruce Must have been a real blip. Four of us eat there New years Eve and as usual the food was excellent. Liz

What a shame, we've always enjoyed Colombo's & Pedro's service has always been excellent & the rest of the staff very friendly. H usually goes for the fillet steak either with english mustard or red wine sauce, served with dauphinoise potatoes & fresh veg', it's alway beautifully cooked medium-rare just as we like it, I often have the pescada, or one of the pasta dishes & we enjoy the starters when we've had, never had a pud' so can't comment on those. I hope that whatever the problem was that it's a temporary blip.

That is surprising about Colombo's then again they, like any restaurant, are bound to serve the odd off meal. I had a very bad meal in a different nearby establishment and I could tell the steak was too raw because it was still "mooing!"

The best place, I think, is that restaurant owned by an ex-footballer. Forgot the name of the place but one of the waiters there is the spitting image of the actor Morgan Freeman and he is a brilliant at his job -genial and very attentive.
