Best restaurant for a big question?
Re: Best restaurant for a big question?
That looks fantastic Gambrinus but isn't it a mortgage job??
Re: Best restaurant for a big question?
Good question, allow me to retort:
How much will it cost you in the long run if she does not like the setting of the proposal?

True Gambrinus
But if you start them off like that it's all downhill afterwards

Re: Best restaurant for a big question?
What about the romance, what do you think she will love, a romantic picnic ,watching the stars on your own on a quiet beach, or a place, full of people, where someone else has done all the work and other people on the table opposite can hear all what you are saying. Perhaps she has a preference of somewhere else or something else that is really romantic to her. A test for your knowledge on what really makes her go all soft and squidgy inside about you . ( Not just nookies)

A few years ago we were in a restauarnt when the guy at a nearby table got down on his knees and proposed.
Fortunately for him he was accepted.
We all got a free glass of fizz and they got a free meal.

I like the way you think, G.!!!!!Gambrinus wrote:Vila Vita Parc - The Ocean Restaurant.

All the top quality service & food you would expect from a Leading Hotel of the World.
If you are serious about getting serious, take her there - 20 minute cab ride from Carvoeiro. Recommend getting a room for the night too.
Re: Best restaurant for a big question?
Vila Vita is a lovely hotel and the restaurant fantastic... If budget allows
but then again, Relais de Praias is good enough for me. (and I'm fussy)
Do let is know if she says yes - Good Luck

Hi all,
Thanks again for your help this week. I've emailed Rei Das Praias but can't get a response. Do they speak English, is there another way of reaching them (their website is a bit slim)?
Thanks for any advice you can give. My girlfriend really has no idea this is coming.

Without a shadow of a doubt Vila Joya in Gale is the best and most romantic anywhere in the Algarve, its the only Michelin two star restaurant in Portugal,a taxi from CVO a 20 min ride and your in Paradise as the Maitre di calls it on your entrance.
Big bucks but if you want the best its there for you, tell them NB sent you and theyll look after you.

Re: Best restaurant for a big question?
Have not visited this restuarant, however, I did know of it, although I had forgotten its name, and know from friends who have been, that it is sublime.
Lunch for two about 350 Euros. Dinner for two about 500 Euros, both with wine etc. Totally agree it is the best in Portugal if you can afford it. ( Way out of our league, even for a special)If you go there for dinner and the special reason too, recommend stay the night, the rooms are fab.
